My latest creations

I've been a busy little bee with my new little one, and it's about killed me that I can't craft and sew any 'ol time I want, but the last couple weeks I've made time to craft and these are some things I've created:
We made "Gramma K" a photo board to put pics of her 2 new grand-babes on!

I made Miss L this ruffley onesie.
This wreath is made out of Coffee filters, this one i'd wanted to make for over a year.
 This red lacey ruffley onesie.

And this is my next project on the list!! how cool are these pillows!

Where she sleeps.

This is where my little babe sleeps!! Let me show you around. The cute owl decals are stickers I found @ Khols for 15.00, I love the bright colors!!
The dresser/changing table is an antique that used to be my Grandma Katie's (the amazing woman that Miss Lucy was named after) I found the changing pad @ walmart. The diaper/wipe holder is from this awesome JJ Cole warehouse sale they have here in Logan 2 times a year.
Mr. Lawley put up all the molding and we painted it bright white. The crib was gifted from my awesome cousin, and my most favorite thing in this picture is the strawberry toy box! It was mine when I was little!
I was so excited to hang my awesome Lucy sign!! I love it and it looks so awesome on the wall, with her sweet name!
the awesome Piggy bank owl was a gift from Gramma and Grampa Lawley and the framed pic is of my Grandma Katie painting up the canyon, she was crazy talented.
My good friend made the Lucy blocks, and the shelf was one I'd saved from the DI!
Her closet is filled with clothes and diapers that was gifted to us from our amazing support system of friends and family.
This rocking chair was my mom's and then mine, and now it will be Miss Lucy's!!

L is for Lucy!!

I found this L @ hobby lobby and knew I had to find some way to "Lucify" it! I decided to add scrapbook paper and some flair. I think I'll hang it on the front of the door to her room! I love how it turned out.

Another Nursery Project

When I first found out I was pregnant I started looking @ every nursery blog, pic, website I could find and then on one of the regular blogs I read I found this awesome sign from Crap I've Made and I couldn't wait to find out what "flavor" of baby we were having so I could make one!! Yesterday I finally got it done!! And I love, love, love it!!!

This is the finished product, yes, i realize it needed to be ironed which i did but can't find the better pic.

materials used:
empty frame
paint
fabric
cutout letters (I just used my computer)
sewing machine
thread
ribbon
hot glue gun

So first I had to paint the frame, I found this really pretty green @ hobby lobby.
While the frame was drying I started on the inside. I had a really pretty plain lavender fabric that I decided to use as the backing. I made crib sheets a few months ago so i decided to use that same fabric to make the letters! (cute crib sheet fabric eh?)
After I decided which letters for which fabric I traced then on the fabric and cut them out. Easy so far huh?
After I positioned the letters on the lavender fabric "just right" I straight stitched them on.

After the frame was dry I hot glued the pink ribbon the edge just inside so that it poked out on the outside of the glass! Hard to explain but it looks cute. Then I just put the whole thing together.

It was a fun project and turned out just how I wanted it!! I'll have to post a pic of it on the wall in little Lucy's room.

And we're back....

I've been MIA for a bit!! I got myself knocked up and was just to sick and exhausted to be very creative, but I've started feeling tons better and so, it's time to catch up!! We've been working on our lil girls room for awhile. I can't wait til it's done. Here's a little sneak peak:

Not a great pic, the "before" walls were dark, dark blue halfway up and white the rest. A couple years ago I had made this room into a Dallas Cowboys room for the hubs, hence the dark blue. We decided for our sweet babes room we wanted to do something neutral and then bring color in with linen's, pictures, blankets, and furniture. We decided on grey, which I'm absolutely in LOVE with right now!
This is our "after" pic so far... We got new carpet (yay) and added a super awesome molding treatment on the wall, I don't know what it's called, but I love it!! Mr. Lawley worked so hard on it, all those angles and making sure it was level. The strawberry is from my childhood! It was our "toy box" The crib came from my cuz (thanks again Smitch). Over the weekend I made some super sweet crib sheets but haven't taken pics yet. (I guess that's for a post to come!)
This dresser/makeshift changing table, was my Grandma Honey's, It's super sturdy and an awesome antique to be able to add to her room. As you can tell we've decided to go with Orange, green, and brown for our main colors.

Of course I've been making a bunch of stuff for her and have thousands more I want to make, so the next following posts will be stuff I've made for Baby Lawley.

***The next 3 months my posts will probably be baby related since that is what is consuming every thought, hour, minute, and second of everyday. Hope you won't be bored!!

Bridal Shower Fun

This {Beautiful Lady} is gettin hitched in a couple weeks so we just had to Party!! I had sooo much fun planning her shower!
The flowers turned out perfect! Exactly what my vision was. I bought a mirror @ hobby lobby for 4 bucks from the candle dept and instead of putting candles on I put the flower vases on it. I spray painted an old frame I had black and distressed it. I covered the mirror with it and it looked awesome!!!
I got the flowers from Smith's, I liked that they weren't super fancy but they still looked beautiful.

I got this "J" from Hobby Lobby. It was originally plan white. I distressed the edges with a black ink pad added some awesome stickers and some ribbon. The brides colors are black, canary yellow, and kind of an apple green, so this fits right in!!
I also found this cute vinyl tile @ Hobby Lobby (apparently my store of choice for this PaRtY!!) I looked perfect with my yellow bird from Tai Pan. This is also a pretty great pic of favors. We got those cute dress favor boxes from the dollar store and then put in gold and green werther's candy to match her colors.
I found these cool lanterns @... yep you guessed it Hobby Lobby! They came 3 in a package, and all different sizes. The best is that they were once again wedding colors!!

Of course I have to get to the food!!! We wanted casual out-doorsy food so we decided on Chicken Salad Sandwiches, Fruit Kabobs, yummy Shrimp Pasta Salad, and last but ohh so not least... Cupcakes from scratch with homemade cream cheese frosting!!!!

This is hands down my fav new beverage!! It's got champagne, orange jello, and some other stuffs in it and it's absolutely fabulous!! I think I'm in love with it!!
That's about it in the craft dept. I have to say it was awesome planning and decorating each table!

Happy Wedding Kristen!!
