And we're back....

I've been MIA for a bit!! I got myself knocked up and was just to sick and exhausted to be very creative, but I've started feeling tons better and so, it's time to catch up!! We've been working on our lil girls room for awhile. I can't wait til it's done. Here's a little sneak peak:

Not a great pic, the "before" walls were dark, dark blue halfway up and white the rest. A couple years ago I had made this room into a Dallas Cowboys room for the hubs, hence the dark blue. We decided for our sweet babes room we wanted to do something neutral and then bring color in with linen's, pictures, blankets, and furniture. We decided on grey, which I'm absolutely in LOVE with right now!
This is our "after" pic so far... We got new carpet (yay) and added a super awesome molding treatment on the wall, I don't know what it's called, but I love it!! Mr. Lawley worked so hard on it, all those angles and making sure it was level. The strawberry is from my childhood! It was our "toy box" The crib came from my cuz (thanks again Smitch). Over the weekend I made some super sweet crib sheets but haven't taken pics yet. (I guess that's for a post to come!)
This dresser/makeshift changing table, was my Grandma Honey's, It's super sturdy and an awesome antique to be able to add to her room. As you can tell we've decided to go with Orange, green, and brown for our main colors.

Of course I've been making a bunch of stuff for her and have thousands more I want to make, so the next following posts will be stuff I've made for Baby Lawley.

***The next 3 months my posts will probably be baby related since that is what is consuming every thought, hour, minute, and second of everyday. Hope you won't be bored!!

Bridal Shower Fun

This {Beautiful Lady} is gettin hitched in a couple weeks so we just had to Party!! I had sooo much fun planning her shower!
The flowers turned out perfect! Exactly what my vision was. I bought a mirror @ hobby lobby for 4 bucks from the candle dept and instead of putting candles on I put the flower vases on it. I spray painted an old frame I had black and distressed it. I covered the mirror with it and it looked awesome!!!
I got the flowers from Smith's, I liked that they weren't super fancy but they still looked beautiful.

I got this "J" from Hobby Lobby. It was originally plan white. I distressed the edges with a black ink pad added some awesome stickers and some ribbon. The brides colors are black, canary yellow, and kind of an apple green, so this fits right in!!
I also found this cute vinyl tile @ Hobby Lobby (apparently my store of choice for this PaRtY!!) I looked perfect with my yellow bird from Tai Pan. This is also a pretty great pic of favors. We got those cute dress favor boxes from the dollar store and then put in gold and green werther's candy to match her colors.
I found these cool lanterns @... yep you guessed it Hobby Lobby! They came 3 in a package, and all different sizes. The best is that they were once again wedding colors!!

Of course I have to get to the food!!! We wanted casual out-doorsy food so we decided on Chicken Salad Sandwiches, Fruit Kabobs, yummy Shrimp Pasta Salad, and last but ohh so not least... Cupcakes from scratch with homemade cream cheese frosting!!!!

This is hands down my fav new beverage!! It's got champagne, orange jello, and some other stuffs in it and it's absolutely fabulous!! I think I'm in love with it!!
That's about it in the craft dept. I have to say it was awesome planning and decorating each table!

Happy Wedding Kristen!!

Goodbye Journal For Sam

My cute lil bro just finished his last round of Chemo earlier this month so of course we had to have a big party!! (more to come on that later) He's also moving to a land far, far away called New York City! I wanted to send a lil something with him that was motivational and would make him feel good. So I made a "Goodbye Journal" for him. I was lucky to find a cool Journal that had fabric on it so all I had to do was embellish it. Pretty cute eh?

I cut some felt into squares and sewed them together then I hot glued the squares onto the Journal. Next I took a Scrapbook "S" (for Sam) and added it in the middle of the squares.
I had some scrapbook embellishments that I thought fit perfectly with his new life and glued them on too!! I love it and so did he!!

Egg Salad Sangwiches!!

I love a good egg salad sandwich. Especially @ Easter time. So we had em for dinner Sunday!! Yummy!! I used this recipe from Brown Eyed Baker and it was sooo good.

Mr. Lawley even helped. He cut up all the ingredients while I peeled eggs and took pics.

The celery, parsley, S&P, shallot, mayo and mustard ready for mixing.
with the eggs added.
My Mister Mixin.
The finished product.
Mr. Lawley had his sandwich on 12 grain bread.
And I had mine on a yummy wheat pita.
I highly recommend this recipe! Happy Easter!

{Eggs}

I've been a huge blog slacker lately... I've been in a weird funk, I've been crafting but for some strange reason not taking pictures to show off!!

I did come up with this cute little Easter craft all by myself!! I took some super cute pink fabric and hot glued it to an old magnet board. Then I outlined a egg on the fabric to help me, cuz we all know i need all the help i can get. Then I cut ribbon 1 1/2-2 inches long and folded them in half and hot glued them really close to each other. It was a great way to use up some of my ribbon odds and ends!! I love the way it turned out!!

And I'm working on some special projects for a BIG party for my brother... details to come!!

Yummy Salisbury Steak

I make this for my Mister quite a bit. It's a hearty meal that is relatively on the healthy side!!
Here's my recipe for Salisbury Steak:

4 cube steaks (I usually just use 2 cuz there's only 2 of us)
1 can of beef broth
3 TBS flour
1 small package of fresh sliced mushrooms
Salt and Pepper

Heat a large skillet over high heat. While that's heating up put 2 TBS of flour on a plate and add salt and pepper. Coat each side of each cube steak with flour and place in screamin hot skillet. flip after 1-2 min. You just want a little searing or crust. Add mushrooms. Mix remaining flour into 2 cups of beef broth and then add to skillet. Turn stove temp down to medium and cover. Let simmer for 20 minutes, remove lid for a remaining 5 min. Then serve!! Yummy!!

I usually make mashed potatoes or another veggie to go with it. Last night we had smashed taters and asparagus!!

Organization Attempt!!

My bathroom has been a disaster for months now.. I just couldn't get motivated enough to tackle it. So last Monday I forced myself to organize and de-clutter!!
I've had this brown basket for like 5 years and it's just bulky and I keep putting crap I don't need in it because it's huge!!

So I started by emptying out all the stuff!! I decided to keep the rug in case anything leeks.
And Tada!! it looks so pretty now. I can see everything!! yay!!

And I love my new cleaning supply holder thingy! It holds more then you'd think!! Now I've got to get one the downstairs bathroom!!

So then I got really ambitious and decided to clean out my drawers. Look @ that mess!! ew!! No wonder the Mr. gets lost in there!!

After I took all the stuff out I saw how gross and stained the bottom of the drawer was I decided to mod podge some paper to the bottom and it looked so much better!! I also bought some new organizer baskets! looks so nice now!
Pretty drawer!!!

I organized the other 2 drawers too, but they look similar so didn't take any pics! I'm also happy to report that it's been 5 days and everything is still in its perfect little spot!! This is a new state record!!

Doggie Dress Up

So the dogs have this little space for there food bowls and it just looks sloppy and yucky, so I decided to make it cute and fun. Not to mention that I don't have kids and am craving something to "dress up"!! And they could care less I"m sure, but it makes me feel better to know they have cute stuff to look @ while they eat!

So here's the before: (how much do you love my burnt orange paint color?!)
I used my Cricut to cut out my babies names. I used cute fire hydrant paper!! Then I used a glue stick to stick them on the wall, I'm sure it won't be pretty getting them off but I used the re-positional kind so... I guess we'll see... That cute picture is not my Lincoln boy but a Picture I found in a magazine! I just cut it out and framed it!!

We already had this cute sign and where Rosco's name was longer then Linc's I decided to put it over Rosco's name. I love that it's tilted a little!
So this is the halfway point, I was going to be done here but it just looked like it still needed a lil something.
SO I decided to make this cute sign to hang. I had gotten this board from the DI a million years ago, and I had these cool doggie stickers and my creative mind just threw this together!! I actually love this better then the other stuff I added to this wall.
And the final product... I am so excited that this turned out so cute!

Mr. Lincoln got a good sniff in and decided he approved!! I didn't get a good pic with there cute matching mustard yellow bowls because they were disgusting and in the dishwasher! Trust me they're cute though!!

Happy Love Day

This "mantle" is one of the best ideas I think I've ever had. We made it out of an old bench. I've been decorating it for every holiday! so fun!! I love my Valentines decor. All the Valentines stuff is new. In the past I never decorated for it because I felt like stuff was only out for like 2 weeks, but this year I decided to be a lil more festive with every major holiday!!

I made the banner today! It's the first banner I've ever made. They are surprisingly easy to make and sooo cute!! I will definitely be making more! Hobby Lobby helped out with the rest! I love that store.
I found the crazy fun red/pink animal print & the red burlap @ Hobby Lobby. I have decided I love making pillows!! the creativity you can put into them is amazing!!
So how cute is this red burlap pillow. I had bought this cute valentines ribbon a few years ago @ Michaels and decided it was perfect for this pillow. I used some of the banner fabric to make the flower and I had that cool white button I'd bought for a different project I never made!!
I'm having a great time making all this Love Day stuff!! I can't wait to make some more!!
